So, I thought I would post something that I had written a while back now...hope you gain something from it! :)
Trials and misconceptions
By Rachel R. Snow
It is upon thought that we begin to understand something of supreme importance. Although, what we thought was so imperative, after time has gone its course, we look back upon and are amazed that we even spent so much time on the matter. Isn't it ironic then that we do this every time something interrupts the cycle of our life as we would prefer it to be? Given light and time to relax, our problems or situations seem so trivial to the ones we are presently in, and yet the cycle continues. We often assume we are the only humans on earth to experience this trial and do not look to the Bible to help us to sort it all out. We want to remain in control and know what is to happen next, but all the wanting in the world cannot change the fact that we know nothing when compared to the mind of God. We are only given a glimpse into the mind of God, yet it is He that remains in control of our destiny and we must give our cares to the Lord for it is only He that knows what is to come. We wait in expectation of information from everyone, it is in our daily conversations with people, yet the very things that are significant for us to find out about are the outcomes of trials and tribulations. We seek to have the answers in verbal or written form, like the writing on the walls or a voice from heaven, but it is much more often that in the silence we come to know the answers for which we seek. Like a breath of sweet peace upon the soul. The Lord provides our answers but are we ready to accept that the answer sometimes requires us not to know? Is it because He does not care? Quite the contrary, it is because He does care and loves us beyond anyone ever could. That is why He keeps certain things from us, so that we may depend upon Him more. We have seen it proved over the course of our lives that we cannot depend on anyone fully except for the one true God! Would we rather that our answers came from man who is not dependable, who has flaws, and knows not the answers to his own questions? Or rather, should we seek after the peace and guidance that comes from knowing God?
